The Celtics open the home schedule two days later when they host the defending NBA champions. While Toronto won’t have Kawhi Leonard, it’ll be an early-season matchup between two teams expected to make a run at the Eastern Conference crown.

A five-game road stretch in November will test Hayward and company a good bit. The Celtics have to face the Warriors, Clippers and Nuggets during the stretch. All three of those teams are expected to contend for the Western Conference title.

Two games after that road trip, Boston faces Kyrie Irving and the Nets for the first time all season. That matchup comes at home, but the Cs travel to Brooklyn just two days later for a rematch against their former point guard.

In December, the Celtics have a Christmas Day showdown with Toronto. The game, held in Toronto, will be televised on ESPN. January is a great month for Boston fans, with nine games coming at home. The biggest home matchup of the month comes on Jan. 20, when the Celtics host LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the new-look Lakers. TNT carries that matchup. Golden State visits TD Garden on Jan. 30 to wrap up an exciting month.

A five-game stretch from Feb. 29 - Mar. 8 is sure to excite Boston fans. Four of the games are at home, including games with Houston, Brooklyn and Utah.

Fans are also sure to enjoy a six-game homestand from Mar. 27 - April 8. A battle with the Bucks on April 5 headlines the span as the regular season winds down with potential playoff positioning on the line. ABC will carry the game between the two Eastern Conference foes.
