Things are finally starting to click for Gordon Hayward and the Boston Celtics.

The Cs picked up a pair of big wins this past week, defeating the New York Knicks at home on Thursday night and then going on the road and thoroughly dismantling the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.

Boston shattered a 56-year-old franchise record with their 56-point, 133-77 win over the Bulls. Seven Celtics players tallied double digits on the scoreboard, led by Jaylen Brown’s 23 points off the bench. Gordon tallied just five points, but found other ways to affect the game in his reserve role. He dished out six assists, grabbed five rebounds, and the Cs were +16 with No. 20 on the floor.

The game not only made history as the biggest win ever for the Boston franchise, it also marked the worst loss in Chicago Bulls franchise history, a rare double-record-breaker.

Boston has now scored at least 118 points in each of their last five games.

“The offense has gotten better over the last couple of weeks,” Stevens said. “We just have to keep building on it.”

That also included their performance last Thursday, when they buried the Knicks by 28, 128-100 at TD Garden. Once again seven Celtics posted double digits on the evening, led by 22 from Kyrie Irving. G-Time once again filled out the stat sheet, with eight points, six points and four boards in 25 minutes, affecting the game in various ways as Boston cruised to the blowout win.

The victory gave the Celtics some measure of revenge for one of the low points of their season so far, a 117-109 loss to the Knicks at home on November 21. It was Boston’s third straight loss, dropping them to 9-9 at the time. They’ve since won six of seven to effectively right the ship.

“I was thinking about it since we lost to them,” Irving said. ”I remember players from other teams asking about what’s going on when we were 10-10.”

Boston has now won five straight games dating back to late November, improving to 15-10 and climbing up the Eastern Conference standings after a two-month span where they lingered on the fringe of playoff position.
