Gordon Hayward was in the giving mood on Thanksgiving Eve, dishing out seven assists and scoring 22 points as his Utah Jazz overwhelmed the Denver Nuggets to stop their four-game skid.

G-Time added five rebounds, a steal and a block to push the Jazz to a decisive 108-83 win, avenging a road loss to the same Denver squad three nights earlier.

“I think we played with more juice, we played with a little bounce in our step,” Gordon said. “We made a couple of adjustments, with going under some of the ball screens as opposed to chasing a lot. I think those things contributed.”

Denver Nuggets v Utah Jazz

Hayward got things going right from the opening whistle, making a three-pointer just 13 seconds into the game.

From there the Jazz continued to roll, going on a 14-0 run to start the game and finished the first quarter ahead 36-27.

While Denver cut into the Jazz lead by three points at halftime, Hayward scored 12 of his 22 points and Utah outscored the Nuggets by 19 points in the second half. The Jazz used a tremendous 31-14 advantage in the third quarter to cruise to victory.

It was a big night for point guard George Hill, who returned to action after missing eight straight games with a sprained thumb. Hill finished the game with 22 points, five rebounds and three assists.

“He plays with so much control and poise and he’s a good decision maker,” Hayward said. “He draws in the defense, allows me to get some easier looks, he allows Rudy (Gobert) to get some things. He makes the game a lot easier.”
