Gordon Hayward announced a new partnership on Tuesday with high-performance gaming company HyperX.

A division of Kingston Technology Company, HyperX makes professional quality memory modules, solid-state drives, gaming headsets and more. Daniel Kelley, director of corporate marketing for HyperX, talked about why Gordon—a lifelong gamer, professional athlete and avid supporter of eSports—was the perfect fit to join their team.

“A lot of professional athletes are gamers; some are casual and are some are more into it. Gordon has a unique story. He’s a regular proponent and advocate for eSports and gaming,” Kelley said. “He’s the epitome of who we’re looking for. He has the respect of the NBA scene and the eSports scene, and a passion for eSports overall.”

HyperX, which sponsors some of the world’s top gaming teams, tweeted out a shot of G-Time wearing their Cloud Revolver headset. Gordon will wear the Cloud Revolver and other HyperX headphones in the locker room and en route to games—not to mention when he’s at home gaming.

“Video games have always been an escape for me. Above anything else they’re just really fun and a great way to connect with others online and be competitive,” Gordon said. “As an avid gamer and professional athlete, I know how important it is to have the best equipment to compete and I’m excited to have joined the HyperX team to represent their gaming gear and build upon their reputation of having the most comfortable and best sounding headsets on the market.”
